Birthday: September 19
House: Gryffindor (former)
Year: 7th (not attending)
Job Position: (former) Student
Creature: Human (Witch)
Wand: Vine, 10¾", Dragon Heartstring
Affiliation: Order Member
Physical Looks
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Brown hair that used to be bushy, but has since changed somewhat after 4th year's Yule Ball.
Markings: N/A
Accent: British
Personality
General Attitude: Hermione is an outgoing individual that values her schoolwork only just under her friends. Many tend to call her a bookworm that constantly follows the rules, but she has had her fair share of rule breaking. Of course, this is all thanks to Harry and Ron. She is generally a know-it-all and constantly uses her knowledge whenever she sees the opportunity to.
Goals: Help Harry, Ron, and the Order overcome Voldemort. Spread the word about her SPEW campaign. "Graduate" from Hogwarts with highest marks in all of her classes.
Likes: Many time has Hermione mentioned that she enjoys Arithmancy. Of course, her two best friends find this subject rather dull and difficult to wrap their mind around. Continuing on with the interest into, what others think as, more boring classes: Ancient Runes has always fascinated the girl. Hermione has a happy talent for Charms, so she tends to like that subject as well. One thing she can't but help is diving her nose into a book of her choice.
Dislikes: Divination has to be her only hated subject. It's one she hadn't even wanted to try in the first place. She believes it's a load of rubbish. Slave treatment of house elves is another issue of hers. She even created an "organization" out of her disagreement towards the treatment of the poor creatures. Lastly, Hermione can't stand poor study habits. Many times she ends up criticizing Ron and Harry, finally just giving up and practically doing their work for them.
Strengths: The brown haired girl is particularily gifted in reading Ancient Runes. This, perhaps, comes from her keen memorization skills. Reading symbols tends to come naturally. Various times, she proved her smarts by remembering random text that helped Harry and Ron get out of their predicaments. Obviously, she is the more "logic thinker" of the trio (which leads her to be a bit close-minded when it comes to Luna Lovegood's stories.)
Bad Habits: Whether she means it or not, Hermione has a terrible tendency to ramble. It tends to make others feel a bit stupid or annoyed since what she may find fascinating may not necessarily be the case to someone else. This leads up to the heroine being a "know-it-all." In fact, she has been called this many times (especially by Professor Snape.)
Fears: If she faced a boggart, it would turn into some sort of test with a horrible grade. Silly to some, but it's a fear she has like no other. Hermione had gotten all high marks accept for one class (DADA) on her O.W.L.s in which she had begun to think it was the end of the world. Her friends were happy to receive even the lowest passing grade.
Family
Parents: Two Muggle parents, both dentists.
Siblings: N/A (only child)
Blood: Muggleborn
Pet: Cat named Crookshanks
Economic background: Higher Middle Class
History: When Hermione got her letter to Hogwarts, she wasted no time in getting her supplies. Reading every text book and memorizing by heart, she rose to the head of the class in every subject. It wouldn't be until later, in Divination, that she dropped one.
On her way to Hogwarts, she met Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Events in their first year, particularly the troll/bathroom incident, led them all the be friends. Even though she disapproves of the boys' tendency to slack off or get into trouble, she follows them faithfully completing their trio. Second year only brought their friendships closer together and she also befriended Ron's sister, Ginny.
Third year things really started "heating up." The Gryffindor girl used a time turner to travel back and forth through time to take more classes. Ron and Hermione almost seemed neck-and-neck with each other throughout the entire year. At one point, he had accused her cat of devouring his pet rat, Scabbers. Of course, they later found out that he wasn't really a rat, rather the betrayer known as Peter Pettigrew. Sirius Black's loyalties became clear and Remus's "furry little problem" was discovered. In the end, the trio's friendship held together and remained strong.
Fourth year proved a lot difficult for everyone, not just Hermione. The Triwizard Tournament brought the "Bulgarian Bon-bon" Viktor Krum to Hogwarts. This is who the girl went to the Yule Ball with, much to Ron's horror. She is still in contact with him, but no longer plans to maintain a "lovers" relationship with him. During this year, Voldemort returned, making it very dangerous in the wizarding world.
During fifth year, Dumbledore's Army was established. Hermione abhorred the curriculum the Ministry had bestowed upon them and wanted to fight to change their schooling. Eventually, this ended with a trip to the Ministry which resulted in Sirius Black's death and the confirmation that the Dark Lord, indeed, did return.
The last year proved quite disastrous and most difficult of all. With the discovery of the horcruxes, the trio tried to wrap their brain around what Dumbledore was going to be teaching Harry in their private lessons. But this "bio" is about Hermione. Her feelings for Ron were (and still are) clouded, not sure what to make of them. After confunding Cormac McLaggen and even taking him to Slughorn's Slug Club, she seemed to go all out to make Ron jealous. Especially since, at the time, he was dating Lavender Brown.
At the end of the year, Dumbledore had been killed by none other than Snape. Everyone was distraught, including Hermione especially. Now it is year seven and, hopefully, the final plot will start to fall into place.
Sample RP: "Honestly, Ronald. After the hundredth time, I would have figured you'd get the hang of the wand movement." Hermione was getting a little frustrated with her redheaded friend. She had tried to teach him a simple fire-freezing charm. So far, she wasn't confident enough in his abilities to actually put her hand in the fireplace burning before them.
While Ron tried, in vain, to produce the correct effect, her brown orbs gazed over to Harry. He hadn't looked like he slept in a week. Multiple times, she had seen him wince from the burning sensation his lightning bolt shaped scar gave him. Every time, she had asked him if it was hurting and he would grunt and say that he was okay. Even though she knew he didn't want to talk about it, it was best if he let them know whenever it hurt him.
A laugh sounded in her right ear which caught her attention immediately. The boy had finally done it. Oh, how exciting it was! Hermione had always liked helping others, but it was rewarding to see when they actually succeeded. "Good! Just do that every time you cast it and you'll be fine!" Her smile faltered when he attempted it again, failing as he had done so many times before. "Oh... well, maybe you need some sleep. Try it again tomorrow."
