Harry walked into Ron's room silently, gently closing the door behind himself. He had just been out in the garden rallying up some gnomes, therefore he was covered with dirt. An early escape from his chores made just enough time for him to spend alone, contemplating his whole situation. Ron, Hermione and himself were so far away from their goal that it would seem that Harry wouldn't get a chance to fulfill the prophesy in the near future. A part of him wanted to do this properly, to go and find the Horcruxes and destroy them, then go after Voldemort, but another part of him just wanted to leave it. Just ignore the fact that people were dying, innocent people were getting hurt, and just take Ginny somewhere and live a peaceful life with her and his friends. Knowing this would never be possible, though, Harry always pushed these thoughts out of his mind as soon as they surfaced. He had to do this. Everyone was counting on him.
Harry padded over to his bed and picked up a book that he had been previously reading and placed it on the floor beside his bed. He sat down with a light thud, hoping that Mrs Weasley wouldn't hear it and come up to give him another pointless task to keep him from planning with Hermione and Ron. Harry laid down on the bed, looking at the ceiling with his hands behind his head. Though he liked the quiet, and being alone for once, he couldn't help but feeling lonely. He had grown so accustomed to always having someone around him that now, when he was actually alone, it felt abnormal. He sat up, his body and mind restless. Swinging his legs over the side of the bed, he decided to go try and find Ron and Hermione to try and have a good talk with them.
His planned thoughts were interrupted when there came a knock on Ron's bedroom door. 'Great' Harry thought She found me. He looked up at the door, clearing his throat.
"Come in."
He said feebly. He hoped that it wasn't Mrs Weasley at the door, but one could only hope.

Ginny's breathing was rough as she raced through the house, Fred and George following and trying to get Ginny to test out a potion for them. "Stop," she growled at them. It wasn't long before Ginny collapsed on the floor. After two hours of trying to find hiding spots from the twins, Ginny wanted to go to sleep. It was tiring work. The twins hadn't given up yet and they were now advancing on her. "Come on Gin, it's only one potion and we know the counterhex." Ginny backed up the stairs on her hands and legs. "Yeah right. You think I'm a bloody dimwit. Why don't you go test it out on Ron?" she glared at them.
She finally stopped and sat with her arms folded as she stared down at the twins. "That's a good idea. Let's go find Ronald." came the replies and the twins raced off to find their younger brother. Ginny moaned and smashed her head into the palm of her head. "For such brilliant twins, they cease to amaze me." She shook out her red curls and trudged up the stairs followed by her new cat, Poppy. The she-cat had pure white fur with a black patch on her back.
Ginny ran a pale hand through her hair, untangling the knots and stopping at Ron's room expecting to find him so she could tell him that the twins were looking for him. Harry and Ron had started to sound alike to Ginny so when she knocked and he gave a response, she didn't bother looking at who it was and started talking.
"Ron, Fred & George are looking for you. They've been chasing me around the house so that I could try their potion, but I told them t-....Harry, oh I'm sorry," she blushed rather violently a dark red color.

Harry's hear leapt into his throat as he saw the red hair of Ginny walk into Ron's room. Half expecting it to have been someone else, Harry was greatly caught off guard, and therefore had also felt a blush creep up his neck and into his cheeks. Though he hadn't turned as red as Ginny, he was still obviously blushing. He gave her a small smile, unable to summon up the mobility to get up off the bed. So he just sat there, looking up at her expectingly.
"Ron's out back if you're looking for him."
Harry said, adverting his eyes from her as he spoke. They hadn't had time to talk since Harry's arrival due to Mrs Weasleys constant attempt to separate Ron Hermione and himself with household chores. He hadn't gotten the chance to tell Ginny that he still liked her, that he still cared about her and that's why he'd broken it off with her. But there she stood, and they were quite alone. The words were all there in Harry's head, but he just couldn't word them in a way that he thought wouldn't hurt Ginny more then he already had. Instead he just sat there, looking at a particularly large dust bunny that had apparently made home underneath Ron's bed.

Ginny blushed and sighed, keeping her eyes away from his handsome face. "Oh. Well, I guess the twins will find them. They found me anyways," she shrugged and gave him a small grin. She noted that she still had the door open and was standing in the doorway like an idiot. Ginny stepped into the room completely and shut the door softly behind her and muttering an incantation to keep it locked and cast "muffliato" over the door so that no one could hear their conversation.
Ginny replaced the wand back into ther pocket and sat down on Ron's desk at the foot of the bed where Harry was sitting next to her. "I haven't talked with you in forever," she said with a slight stammer. She had been put through so much now that Molly had discovered the trio was trying to plan something. Constantly having to run around the house to keep the twins entertained, watching over the house when Molly was out, cleaning up the house. No wonder Ginny hated the thought of becoming a house elf.
She watched Harry with her intent, brown eyes. There was a bit of excitement in hers, but she noticed he seemed as though he needed to talk about something.

Harry watched her intently as she cast the well known charm on the door. He bit his lip as she sat next to him, resisting the urge to put his arm around her, just to have any contact with her. He missed their long walks on the Hogwarts grounds, the many hours wasted away sitting under the shadow of the tree by the lake. Even though it had all occurred recently, it also seemed to distant. Almost like he himself had never experienced those laughter filled days, but merely only looked in on them as they occurred. Still not looking at her, Harry nodded.
"Yeah. Your mum's been keeping us pretty busy."
The small talk was eating away at him. He wanted to tell Ginny how he felt, how scared he was, how he wanted to be with her, and how he wished everything was different. He sat with his hands in his lap, staring at them intently. He swallowed the lump in his throat, running a hand through his un manageable hair.

Ginny nodded in agreement. "Yeah, she's just...all over the place these days," she said with a chuckle that died quickly. She sighed and thought things over through her head. Harry had been her love interest since Ron's first year. He had practically been living with her own family every summer. All of a sudden, her mum was keeping everyone away from each other making sure that Ginny stayed the furthest away and the busiest.
She probably didn't want her daughter to get any ideas either. Ginny muttered something inaudible under her breath and watched Harry. In all his glory, he sat before her. She choked on the words she wanted to say everytime she saw him. She wanted to tell him she still loved him and never would stop even if he married someone else. Ginny ran a hand through her hair again. She stood up making it seem as though she was leaving. She pulled down her shorts and fixed her top. The Holyhead Harpies had always been her favorite team and she owned at least three different shirts from a few of their games. Her room had been covered with posters of her favorite players.
Without thinking, GInny couldn't stand it anymore. She threw herself into Harry's lap in one swift motion. She was light as a feather after all the running she had to do and she decided not to eat dinner most of the time considering that it would be cut short anyways. Ginny had gotten used to her new lifestyle of not eating. Ginny's lips somehow managed to find Harry's and it was soft, but filled with much passion. Ginny's arms had already wound around his neck and her fingers were tangled in his black hair.

Even with all the thoughts about Ginny spinning through his head, Harry couldn't manage to articualte any means of telling Ginny how he felt about her. Just when his brain had decided to work, he opened his mouth to speak, but quickly shut it again as Ginny stood up from her previous seat, adjusting her clothes. Harry wanted to stand up, embrace her and tell her not to leave, but instead he sat, rooted to the spot.
A quick flash of red hair in front of his eye were the only warning that he got before Ginny was in his lap, her lips pressed against his own. Harry's eyes slid just as he gave into the kiss, wrapping his arms around her tiny waste. He knew that he would probably regret later not putting up a fight, but right now, at this very second, he needed this.
As he kissed her soft lips, all the happiness that had escaped from him poured back in, a wave of pure bliss awakening his senses. He no longer felt as if all his happy memories were watched from a distance. It almost seemed quite opposite now. It seemed almost impossible that He, Harry, could have gone through so much hardships over the last couple of months, and be able to feel this happy, this euphoric.

Ginny grinned into the kiss. Glad that Harry had not put up a fight like he usually would. Good thing Ron was being tortured by the twins so she doubted he would find out about this. After a few moments, Ginny pulled away from Harry, basically panting for air. She felt like her cat after she had run out in the fields hunting for mice. That, or trying to run from the twins's crazy experiments. Ginny grinned, her fingers still tangled in Harry's jet black hair. She watched him for a moment.
Before she had time to choke on her words, they blurted out of her mouth. "Harry..I still love you," she said rather softly. Her brown eyes gazed into Harry's green ones as she watched him gently. She had missed these moments and so many others and when it finally arrived, Ginny had taken over the situation and thrown herself at the door of Heaven.
It was great to be in Harry's arms again. Ginny smiled and let her hands wander down the side of his face, slowly rubbing his cheek softly with her fingers. Ginny let out a pleasant sigh. She licked her lips, still tasting Harry's sweetness on them. It was something she had also missed out on for almost a year now.

Harry felt his heart sink as Ginny pulled away. He opened his eyes to gaze into Ginny's beautiful brown orbs, a small smile playing on his lips. They sat there for a few moments in comphortable silence. God, had he missed this so much. It reminded him of simpler times.
The silent spell was broken by Ginny's words, which peirced through Harry's heart, leaving a heavy feeling in his stomach. He bit his lip, still keeping his eyes locked on hers.
"I--- I know.."
IDIOT! His mind screamed at him. He was about to repeat her words back to her, but he knew that he couldn't do that. It would only comlicate things. His mind raced back to the present, thinking on how much it would hurt Ginny if she found out how he felt about her, then died while trying to accomplish his mission. In his mind, it was easier to not tell her how he felt until he was sure nothing would come beween them, that nothing would keep them appart.
Harry swallowed and licked his lips, like Ginny. He put his hands over hers, removing them from his face and setting them onto his lap.
"Ginny. We... we just can't."
He said, letting out a small sigh.

Ginny and Harry's kiss was strong, but when they broke away she watched him seem a bit sad. Ginny's brown eyes watched him licking his lips. He was handsome and just sitting in his lap knowing she couldn't have him until this was over made her flinch. She sighed and listened to him as he opened his mouth and sighed.
Ginny's heart cracked upon hearing his words. "Harry..I know, but can't we.." she trailed off. He moved her hands to his lap. Ginny's heart felt like it would burn up and burn down her whole body. She trembled a bit, her red hair caressing her face. She knew it was impossible. The Dark Lord wanted Harry, and Ginny was going back to school this summer.

Harry frowned at her. Letting out a sigh, he shook his head. She didn't understand. They couldn't be anything. Not for a long time. Harry deeply regretted this, because in his mind, Ginny gets married to another guy before Harry has a chance to finish his mission. He felt anger bubbling inside his stomach, adverting his eyes from Ginny's.
"We can't just be anything. You'll just end up getting hurt."
He didn't know how else to explain it. If he got involved with Ginny now, then he knew that something would happen to her. He just had a feeling. The cenario played out in his head. Voldemort would find out about Harry Potter's lover, and capture her. Then, he'd use her against him until Harry gave in, then he would probably kill her. Harry shuddered at the thought. He would never let that happen.
"You... you'd never be safe."

Ginny sighed. She knew all of this and yet she tried so hard to push it away. It hurt her to think Harry and her would never be together again until after this battle. She rubbed the back of her neck with her hand, taking in Harry's face with her eyes and letting it soak onto her brain. We can't just be anything. The words rang through her head like a broken record machine. Ginny wanted to be something. To be anything. To be everything to Harry, but he wouldn't allow it.
"Harry..but..we..I..oh," she gave up. She looked at his green eyes, retaliating the night she saw him in the quidditch pitch with Cedric Diggory. Ginny had ran out of the stands and tried hard to get down to Harry, tears in her eyes. She almost made it until Hermione held her back along with the twins and Neville. Ginny's heart cracked even more knowing she would never be safe. She felt Harry shudder beneath him.

Harry shifted awkwardly, biting his lip. He wanted to be with her so bad. He removed his hands from on top of hers, replacing them on her lower back. Having her in his arms was, to Harry, the best feeling in the world. If he were faced with a Dementor, he would think about the feeling of closeness that he got when he was holding her to produce his Patronus. Harry pulled her tiny frame against his own, snaking his arms around her. He knew that this would probably just confuse her. It contradicted everything he had just said, but he just needed to hold her.
"Ginny. Im sorry. I wish it was different."
Harry's mind returned to the looming task at hand. He wanted now more then ever to gather Ron and Hermione so they could talk about their plans. He wanted this whole thing to be just done and over with. Being here, waiting until after the wedding, to Harry, was waisting time. But they had promised Mrs. Weasley that they would stay. So Harry would just have to wait. But on the bright side, they would be more prepared when they do actually get around to leaving.

Ginny was about to protest when he bit his lip and shifted, but was completely thrown off course when Harry snaked his arms around her and pulled her small frame closer to his body. Ginny almost let out a gasp, but didn't fight it. She let him hold her close and yes, in fact, it did contradict everything he had just told her. However, Ginny enjoyed this little moment of Harry/Ginny alone time.
"I know," she whispered softly in his ear. She noticed that Harry's mind wandered a bit. She sighed and wrapped her arms lightly around his neck just holding him close to her made her feel perfect inside. How ever did he choose her, Ginny had no idea, but right now Ginny could care less. She was in love with the boy who lived and she wanted it to stay that way. Stay like that forever and ever. Only if Ron would allow it of course.

Harry closed his eyes and stroked her soft hair, almost falling asleep. He could just sit here forever, but knew he couldn't. He let out another sigh and pulled away, looking back into her eyes.
"I'm Sorry, i shouldn't have done that."
He wanted to stand up, but he couldn't. He could easily ask her to get off his lap, but he couldn't manage to articulate the words. He finally looked at her and said in a quiet voice.
"I think you need to go now."
He looked away from her, not wanting to see her face. He knew that what he had just said was a bit harsh, but it was for the best. Maybe if she hated him, then it would be easier for him to leave her.
